Historic Completion of Rathoa Haryam Bridge Welcomed as a Major Milestone for the Region
The long-awaited completion of the Rathoa Haryam Bridge has been widely welcomed as a landmark achievement for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, bringing improved connectivity, economic opportunity, and easier travel across the region.
The bridge is expected to significantly reduce travel time between surrounding areas, strengthen links between communities on both sides of the water, and support trade, education, healthcare access, and local development. Residents have described the project as transformational for daily life and regional mobility.
” The completion of Rathoa Haryam Bridge is not just the building of a structure, but the fulfilment of a long-standing dream—heartfelt congratulations to the people of Islamgarh and Mirpur whose unity and perseverance made this historic milestone possible.“

Special appreciation has been expressed for the dedicated efforts of the Action Committee Rathoa Haryam Bridge, whose consistent advocacy and mobilisation played a vital role in keeping the project active and progressing over the years. Their persistence ensured that the long-standing public demand remained firmly on the development agenda.
Tributes have also been paid to Anwar-ul-Haq for his leadership and continued support in advancing the project, alongside the valuable contributions of overseas Kashmiris and numerous local activists, whose commitment and engagement helped sustain momentum at critical stages.
Community representatives have described the bridge as a symbol of unity, determination, and collective effort, highlighting how cooperation between local residents, diaspora supporters, and campaign groups helped bring the project to completion.
With the bridge now operational, residents and stakeholders have expressed hope that it will open a new chapter of progress and connectivity for the wider region, while also standing as a lasting example of what can be achieved through coordinated community action and sustained advocacy.
